After formulating the idea, scientists and engineers actually think of different aspects like the challenge posed by the situation, commercial viability, analysing how much useful the device can be of etc. That’s why, engagement or involvement of scientists, engineers and most importantly the experts of the relevant fields are essential in deciding the features of the new product.
Certain machines are of higher importance because they get used across sectors like chemical, mechanical, construction, agriculture, aviation, automobile, textile etc. Previously, same machine was used across sector but later on, it has been observed that the machine designed for a specific cause can maximise the output lowering down the operational and maintenance cost of the machine. Pumps also come under such category as it gets used in all of the sectors for different purposes. Also, while designing prime importance must be assigned to operator safety and safety of the whole operation as depending upon the type of industry some of the times, it deals with chemically reactive, hazardous, toxic fluids.
For the mining and construction industry, mainly air operated submersible pumps are used for sump drainage and dewatering applications. Generally speaking, mining is tough as the fluid generally very toxic, solid laden and highly viscous in nature. Since this type of machine is air operated hence, does not need electric cables. Moreover, electric cable can get torn due to excessive usage for which every time new set of cables was needed to be bought previously. This machine is also having robust design for which it can be used in harsher environments and another important feature is governor controlled motor which ensures extended life of this heavy duty machine. In addition, during operating, if they get jammedwith rocks or fibres, it only stalls the operation which is a safer option.
For light industries or heavy duty application, generally submersible pumps get used for heavy duty jobs. This machine comes both in manual or automatic version and can be made fully submersible. Generally made of cast iron or stainless steel, this machine can be used for various purposes like industrial waste removal, kitchen processing waste removal, sewage removal, stromwater drainage etc.
For harsher mining environment where the machine is needed to perform under tough weather condition (like high temperature and pressure), pneumatic submersible pumps are useful. Generally, for any mining company the expectation is pretty high. The machines are needed to perform for longer hours without break and should be able to extract solid laden fluid out of the mine. Moreover, it should ensure safety for the operator as well as the whole industry.
